Good Faith Estimate
Under the No Surprises Act (2022), clients who are uninsured or choosing not to use insurance for services are entitled to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) of expected charges, such as psychotherapy services from a healthcare provider.
Because the length and frequency of therapy vary based on individual needs, the Good Faith Estimate is based on the information available at the time it is provided and the services discussed. Any changes to services or fees will be discussed with you in advance, and an updated estimate will be provided as needed. This estimate is not a contract and does not obligate you to receive services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service.
If your bill is $400 or more above your Good Faith Estimate, you have the right to dispute the charges.
